Circa 1900, unusual circular mahogany bijouterie table. The circular top has a large mahogany bezel with an ogee moulding on the outside and small caddy moulding on the outside. On the flat section between these is a very stylish blind fretwork carving. The top is hinged with a lock at the front. Inside the base is lined with velvet. There are four convex glass panels on the sides, each held in place in a small panel with moulded edges. At the top of the legs is a blind fretwork panel and double quarter blocks with stylish open fretwork. Beneath this, the legs have a small shaped capital and taper down to a crossover cruciform stretcher with a simple moulded edge, and the legs then finish on raised tapering toes. The table is sturdy and clean.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
