This is an antique drawing room chair. An English, walnut ladies or side seat, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.

• Delightfully upholstered chair with a fine decorative appearance
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
• Select walnut stocks presents fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
• Traditionally stuffed and benefiting from a later professional upholstering

• Exceptional craftsmanship displayed by the impressive, foliate relief crest rail
• Shaped back rest with a padded cushion over a carved leaf lower rail
• Striking gold and light blue upholstery with tasteful gold brocade trim
• Shaped front apron unites to the centre with a double scroll motif

• Broad knees accentuated with prominent relief carved decoration
• Cabriole legs to the front ride smoothly upon a pair of ceramic castors
• Standing upon a pair of swept legs to the rear with a cylindrical foot
