This is an antique dome top calling card box. An English, walnut and brass bound desktop tidy, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.

• Bold form and delightful brightwork to this neat stationery box
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Select walnut stocks present fine grain interest
• Warm caramel hues beam beneath the wax polish finish

• Domed top dressed with quality pierced brass fretwork, with bright golden tones
• Gothic overtones evident in the quatrefoil lock escutcheon — in working order, key present
• Lid interior finished in a reflective silver foil with distinctive beaded texture
• Four segments to the interior presented in a shock of bright cobalt blue
