Willy Rizzo table, gold plated gilt & black metallic lacquer, for Boulanger 1970`s ca, Belgian.
Thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina and ready to use.
This smart vintage occasional table attributed to Willy Rizzo has faceted corners characteristic of his designs. In this example made by Belgian manufacturer Boulanger, Rizzo`s design is executed exaggerating the scale of the angular shapes.
The Modernist frame in luxurious metallic black, gold plated gilt & bronze mirror make this piece very sculptural & chic. It is significant to stand alone as a side table or small coffee table.
The design would compliment any Interior design scheme such as Art Deco, Minimalist, 1970`s Glamour or Contemporary.
Structurally there are 4 square sectioned columns with faceted corners suspending the original octagonal clear glass top, of great quality with a depth of 10 mm. This glass top is removable.
Below there is a shelf in a square shape attached to the four columns. The frame of the trim is also black metallic with an additional decorative detail of an inner trim plated in 23 Karat gold. This frame suspends the original bronze-tone mirrored surface which is also removable.
This vintage table is in very good condition. The black metallic lacquer and gold plated gilt on the frame are in very good condition with the original antique patina on the gilt. The original vintage bronze mirror surface is in very good condition with only minor marks on the surface in line with age. The clear glass top is the original vintage, in very good condition with only a small tiny chip internal to one side, hardly noticeable when the top is on (as photographed).
On the underside of the frame there is the original maker`s label stating the gold is 23 Karat.
The original plastic stoppers supporting the glass top are present as are the stoppers on the bottom of legs to protect the floor.
Packing is offered free of charge. For safe transport, the glass & mirror surfaces would be removed and packed separately. The pieces would have double bubble wrap and an outer layer of stretch wrap. If necessary an outer layer of card could be added or this piece could be placed inside a box.
The shelf rises 20 cm from the floor.
The space from the shelf to the glass top is 25 cm.
The glass top Depth is 10 mm.
