Circa 1830, William IV rosewood adjustable piano stool of generous proportions. The rectangular top has rounded corners, and beneath this is a cross stretcher and a large rosewood bezel which is hollow. Inside this is a wooden shaft which revolves to adjust the height. The base of the stool at the top has a brass bezel and a large rosewood collar. In the centre is a large carving almost like a cluster of rope, and beneath this the column continues to be fluted, turned and tapering. The whole piece stands on a solid rosewood triform base with concave sides, on three turned squat feet. The stool is very stylish with great colour, and functional.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
