    Victorian carved oak monks bench / hall bench. The rectangular folding top bears a foliate carving and the seat back bears a heraldic carving. It is hinged on the arms which are supported on twin balusters. There is storage beneath the seat and the exterior bears carved foliate panels to the front and sides.

     
    Size 77 cm high (closed) x 94 cm high (open) x 92 cm wide x 46 cm deep

    The condition is cosmetically poor but all functional parts are intact and in expert hands can easily be restored to it's original attractive appearance. This piece has been in my family for several generations but unfortunately it just does not fit in my home anywhere -I am a private seller, wanting this to find a good home after expert restoration.
