stylish george iii style desk

Circa 1930s. A large George III style shaped pedestal desk. The shaped top with three insert leather panels, tooled and gilded. Three drawers in the frieze one full length and two shorter ones, with curved quilled sections separating the drawers, resting on a pair of pedestals, each with a bank of three drawers, with classic cast brass swan neck handles and brass escutcheons, with fluted pilasters to the sides. Beneath there are further mouldings, and the desk stands on eight elegant ogee bracket feet, the desk is polished on all sides making it free standing.

The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
