A stunning ebonised and brass antique French writing table / desk Louis XVI style circa 1880-1900. This fine quality antique desk also can be know as a bureau plat is adorned with polished brass moulding and flutes which have a beautiful mellow tone.
There are also two pull out writing leather writing slides to the to either side extending the writing and useable surface if needed. The drawers are fully oak lined with handcut dovetails with the right hand drawer being a double deep having a lift out oak sectioned compartment with a secret lockable drawer behind. Each drawer is fully brass moulded with original pierced fretted escutcheons and brass locks with the back being fully finished the desk can be freestanding.
