This is a small antique apprentice chest. An English, camphorwood sample storage box, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920.
- Superb craftsmanship in miniature from the hand and eye of a skilled apprentice
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Camphorwood stocks present rich caramel hues
- Profusely carved with Oriental river scenes with foliate borders
- Opens upon brass hinges to reveal the clean, natural interior
This is a charming antique apprentice chest, with skilful carved decor. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
