Circa 1870, an unusual tall walnut and burr walnut Continental chest of drawers consisting of 7 various drawers, all half veneered and crossbanded in walnut. The top has a moulded edge and concave moulding all around, and below this is a crossbanded section. The top drawer is cushion shaped with, and all the drawers have stylish cast brass handles with cherubs and stylised escutcheons. The front of the chest has 2 stylish carved turned columns, and below is a simple walnut frieze. The chest stands on 2 squat bun feet at the front and simple blocks at the back. Good colour and condition.
