regency solid figured mahogany tilt-top breakfast table c1815

A very solid, good Regency Cuban mahogany breakfast table c1815. Beautifully figured two-piece jointed top with reeded edge. Ovoid shaped table-top supported by a reeded cannon barrel column pedestal. Pedestal raised on four out-swept sabre legs with further reeded decoration, terminating in substantial square cap brass casters. Tilt action is strongly secured by an original elaborate coupled, sprung double bolts with pull-rod and gilt brass pull-knob. Original locating inset brass keeper plates in pedestal top. Original finish and gorgeous aged patina throughout. Table-top measures 145 cm by 114 cm – very generously seating four and comfortably seating six. Table-top height is 71 cm.
This table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Solid sound construction. Tilt action and locating mechanism are in perfect working order. Original finish retained. Minor historic marks, wear and repairs as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Please see further images on our website as these form an important part of the description.
