partners desk carved mahogany : att to horner

Only one word describes this partners desk,,Stunning!Made of mahogany & carved so elegantly .The carving is so crisp, clean & mellow in the rococo scrolling undulating form., The bold carved lion head mask at the top of the knee & the acanthus leaf flows magnificently down to the incredibly carved paw foot. As I mentioned it is a partners desk & it looks the same on both sides, but only one side is the working desk. The great thing about a partners desk is that it can be centered in a room & beautifully viewed from all angles. The size is 31 ½” high x 54” wide x 30”deep.The surface patina is very rich & mellow. Everything about this desk is fine & elegant & I attribute this desk to American Cabinet maker R.J.Horner ,New York, this is very much the manor of his work, Dating from the 19th Century Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.
