This is a pair of antique carved lion bookends. An Oriental, ebonised ironwood book rest with animal figure interest, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Ferocious lion forms, with a charming decorative appearance
- Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good original order
- Hand-carved ironwood with an ebonised finish
- Prominent teeth to the open mouths create a dynamic, prowling look
- Protective leather pads dress the bases and feet of each lion.
