Circa 1880, oak and brass freestanding dinner gong. The frame is polished to all sides with a curved top and a raised section, leading on to a cross-over stretcher with a turned, tapering and bulbous section in the centre. The large circular planished brass gong is suspended from two brass hooks and has its original beater in light stained bamboo.
