Circa 1920, classic shaped oak refectory table. The top has mitred corners and beneath this on both ends are pull out slides to increase the seating to make it a generous 10 seater table. There is an apron on left and right, carved with acanthus leaves on the ends and a serious of recesses almost carved like small arched mirrors. This is supported by large carved pineapples with acanthus leaves on the bottom and relief carving on the top. Beneath this it turns and tapers, and continues into a square block with chamfered corners. The table stands on four splayed legs which lie flat on the floor, united by a large flat stretcher with rounded corners. The table has good colour and good condition.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
