Circa 1870, mid Victorian mahogany demi lune washstand. The marble top has a nice ogee moulded edge and an arched gallery at the back with two quarter supporting blocks carved out of the same speckled white marble. Beneath this, the washstand has a deep apron which is veneered in mahogany, and has a small half round moulding at the bottom. At the front is a turned, carved and fluted leg, and at the back are two flat rectangular legs almost like pilasters finishing on a moulding on three sides. All the three legs sit on a raised shaped platform, standing on three squat bun feet. Clean, good colour and sturdy.
