Circa 1860. A quality mahogany marble top secretaire French commode. The fossilized marble top with simple ribbed fore-edge, the chest a configuration of five full length drawers, the top drawer with elegant moulding on the facing opens to reveal a secretaire interior with a circular leather writing surface and various drawers with elegant balustrades to the sides, there are four further full length drawers all with book matched flamed mahogany, beneath the bottom drawer there is an ogee moulding and the last drawer is concealed in the frieze. the whole piece rests on stylish squat bracket feet.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
