Circa 1920, George II style walnut and burr walnut lowboy by Maple & Co. The matching veneered top has wonderful colour and configuration, and is crossbanded on the top and sides. At the front is a configuration of 3 drawers. The middle double drawer has a brass plate with the makers label Maple & Co. The handles are cast brass with open back plates typical of the George II period. Beneath the middle drawer is a shaped apron. The fore edge is canted. The whole piece stands on 4 elegant walnut legs with carved knees, stylish quarter blocks and finishing on pad feet. Would make a fine dressing table or desk.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
