Circa 1920, exhibition quality mahogany chest by Whytock and Reid, Edinburgh. With rounded top and front fore-edge in matching flame mahogany veneers leading on to a carved, reeded facing to the sides. The top part with a configuration of 2 short drawers over 3 long drawers, all lined and to the backs in mahogany, several stamped with the makers label. A curved apron with flame mahogany veneers continues around the front and sides, all standing on unusual carved feet (giving the illusion of being fluted).
