Circa 1900, a mahogany 2 tier dumbwaiter. The smaller top tier is solid mahogany with a turned raised edge. This has been created by scooping out the centre of the whole piece of mahogany. The same has occurred on the next larger shelf. The 2 shelves are joined together by a column. The column is bulbous at the top and then has a canon bar section. This has a tapering turning section and below this a wonderful twisted fluted urn gives the table great style. The top tier and the middle tier are both independent of the upright and can be revolved. The whole piece stands on 3 raised unusual stylish and sabre cabriole legs finishing with carved rondels at each end of the base and brass and leather castors. The leather castors always indicate quality. The tables are of a neat size, clean and sturdy.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
