This is a large pair of antique putti bookends. An Italian, fruitwood cherub figure as book rests, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Fascinating figural bookends, with large proportion and distinctive appearance
- Presenting a desirable aged patina and in good original order
- Lightly time worn fruitwood skilfully crafted into these bold Putti figures
- Each figure sat upon a stone stool, with an open book atop their legs
- Dressed with protective leather pads to the base
- Ideal for larger volumes - the books in the image measuring 39cm in height (15.25'')
