Circa 1920, Jacobean style oak monks bench. The double panelled top is held in place by dowels. The main seat of the bench is hinged and opens to reveal a storage space inside. The arms are solid oak with ribbing in the centre and held in place by 2 turned uprights. The front of the bench has 3 fielded panels with diamond shape oak pieces attached. Beneath this the whole piece stands on 4 turned legs with cross stretchers on each side and a raised turned foot. The bench is a neat size. Good colour, clean and sturdy.
