Article number: YAL 2600Good quality George IV (circa 1820 - 1830) Mahogany writing table retaining its original black tooled hide. Two full width Mahogany lined drawers and two 'blank' drawers to the other side means it was designed to stand alone in a room rather than against a wall.Large carved and ring turned octagonal legs on heavy brass castors. The castors are clearly stamped 'BS & P patent' below the kings cipher. This brand of castor/marking is synonymous with good quality pieces of the period and in particular Gillows furniture.
The drawers are in good order, Mahogany lined, fine dovetail corners with later ebonised wooden knobs.
Various small marks to the black hide commensurate with use, otherwise very clean all round. Deep, rich even colour all round.Presented cleaned, light touch refurbished and re waxedWe can arrange economy blanket wrap courier delivery on this piece:
