Circa 1860. A good George III style mahogany three-part pedestal partners desk. The top with a rich burgundy tooled and gilded leather insert, broad banding and a well carved and ribbed fore-edge, the front with three narrow drawers, each with stylish cast brass swan neck handles with elegant back plates with fine dragooning beneath. The pedestals with a set of three graduating drawers with similar handles to the top with reeding above the top drawer, the back with three faux drawers and two panelled cupboards beneath. Beneath the drawers and the cupboards there is further carving, and the pedestals rest on squat bracket feet.
