Circa 1800 & later, adapted Georgian mahogany chest of drawers. The mahogany chest has a wonderful coloured top with moulded edge. Beneath the top there is a configuration of 4 pairs of drawers. The drawers are actually double drawers with fore beadings and spaces between them. The drawers graduate from top to bottom. Each of the drawers have a Georgian escutcheon around the bottom and a pair of swan neck handles with brass pommels and oval back plates. All the drawers open and reveal an oak lined interior. Beneath the bottom drawer there is a small space and an ogee moulding that runs around the side and the chest finishes on 4 squat classical Georgian bracket feet.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
