Circa 1920's, George III style sewing table or Butler's stand. An unusual 2 tiered piece with a top section of a single solid mahogany piece and cut out hand rail. This has a lidded area with a cast brass lifting handle at the back with a lion's face and a ring pull. It is hinged and has a retainer on the inside to stop the top from falling back. This shaped box sits on a D-end flat section with a small wrap around gallery. Underneath are 4 elegant mahogany legs all on a slight angle. They are turned and tapering with a ring turning to the top and the bottom and finishing on a cast brass cup and brass castors.
