Circa 1900, neat sized George III style coat and hat rack/hall stand. The top has a solid circular disc with shaped upright hooks and small turned finials on the fore edge. Beneath this there is a chamfered column which has a section of flat and reeded and is capped by carved acanthus leaves. A third of the way down there are three further wooden hooks embedded into the column. Towards the bottom there is a chamfered area which is beaded and covers the shaft, and from this come the three simple splayed legs which have a slight carved reeding on the fore edge. The stand has wonderful colour, clean and stylish.
