george iii mahogany and satinwood tea table

Circa 1800, George III mahogany and satinwood crossbanded fold over tea table. The rectangular table has a wonderful faded mahogany top with rounded front edges, and satinwood and ebony crossbanded fore edge. The table is hinged and opens to reveal an interior of mahogany with similar banding on the outside, but un-faded. Below the top is an apron which is inlaid and curves to follow the shape of the table. There are double hinge back legs which support the table when opened. The table stands on four square tapering and inlaid legs.

Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
