Circa 1780, good George III mahogany and inlaid bow fronted corner cupboard. The wonderful swept forward sectioned cornice has satinwood and ebony inlay, and in the apron below there are 3 large inlaid sections with flowers and cross banding. Left and right there are 2 flat sections with flame mahogany which is framed in boxwood. The cupboard has 2 doors with fielded panels and a rounded satinwood beading with rosewood inlay. There are 2 very stylish cast brass escutcheons which are gilded and are surmounted by eagles. Inside there are 2 fixed shelves which are painted green with a slight gilding on the fore edge, and there is an unusual sectioned arch behind the door. At the base there are 3 bow fronted drawers and an ogee moulding. The corner cupboard has wonderful colour and patination. Excellent condition and very stylish.
