Circa 1900, French style walnut side table probably by Morison & Co of Edinburgh. The top has matching quarter veneers, solid walnut mouldings and rounded corners. Below the top is one drawer which has beading on the bottom and a cast brass handle. The drawer is lined in mahogany. On each side of the drawer there is a solid carved panel, and from this the legs form. The top of the feet have canted corners with a carved acanthus leaf. This style is repeated on both the sides and back making the table freestanding. The feet are long, elegant and carved and finish in a lovely cabriole leg. Below this is a brass castor which has white porcelain wheels which are faded. The table is simple but very elegant.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
