Circa 1860, early Victorian pollard oak dining table. The table is rectangular with chamfered corners and a carved fore edge with various carvings and acanthus leaves. Below the table top is a small square edge and a pollard oak apron with a beading below it. The table stands on 5 wonderful carved large rectangular and tapering legs. The tops are carved with foliate and fruit and taper down to a moulded centre section. Below this the legs taper again and have fluting, carving and finish on large brass and porcelain castors. The table has a windout mechanism on both sides, and has 4 additional original leaves all in pollard oak on an oak carcass. The table is in excellent condition with wonderful colour.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
