This is a particularly good quality antique mahogany desk, dating to about 1830.
It has fine figured veneers to the drawers and beautiful cross banded veneers to the edge of the desk top surface.
The legs are very well turned and tapered, very much in the late Regency / William iv style and all of the castors are original and run smoothly too.
The drawers have fine hand cut dovetails and all of the mahogany drawer linings are original and very sound. The turned mahogany knobs are all original too.
The back of the desk is not veneered so it would always have been intended to stand against a wall.
The maroon skiver is a quality new replacement.
Superb condition throughout.
