...........................................................................Description:EARLY 19thc ANTIQUE FRENCH CHESTNUT BEDROOM HANGING WARDROBE CUPBOARD ARMOIREThis outstanding piece is part of our own personal matching French Bedroom suite which we have owned for nearly a decade and have now decided to sell due to a decor change at our home. It is a beautiful & charming piece. The Armoire dates to Circa 1840 - 1860 and is made from the finest solid Chestnut.. The Armoire has everything going for it, including tall rising finials, geometric mouldings and even fully panelled sides which is a good sign of quality. The piece has a pair of twin mirrored doors (one of which is beveled the other is not) and once opened it reveals an adjustable bank of two drawers and lots of storage space for clothes, shoes etc. (A hanging rail will need to be added for clothes hanging)The huge Bun feet are extremely impressive, giving the piece a very commanding and elegant presence. The condition is overall lovely with just the usual minor knocks and minor marks commensurate with it's age of 140 years + and the piece has a fabulous rich aged patination.The photographs do not do this magnificent piece justice.
