Circa 1820, walnut Dutch marquetry bow fronted side cabinet, with a demi lune top and a central motif of a vase of flowers which is framed in a black and white circle. On each side of this are 2 cornucopia filled with flowers surrounded by further string inlay. Beneath the top is a central pilaster which again has an urn filled with flowers. On each side are 2 drawers covered in marquetry, and beneath these 2 large curved doors. The doors have flowers and ribbons on them and a very stylish marquetry panel framing them. Below these, there is an apron with large banding and the whole piece stands on 3 shaped feet with marquetry again within them. The back board is solid oak, as is the frame. Very stylish piece of furniture.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
