A superb and rare example of a mid-Victorian half tester bed in original condition. The tapered posts support cast iron panels of decorative design. The tall back posts support a canopy from which drapes can be hung.
This bed currently accepts a British standard double base and mattress, 4 ft. 6 in (54 in or 135 cm) wide by 6 ft. 3 in (75 in or 190 cm) long. However we can alter both the length and width of the bed so it will accept a British king-size or American queen-size, 5 ft. wide (60 in or 150 cm).
The bed is shown it its skeletal form without base, mattress or bedding. Seventh Heaven can provide all that is required to make this bed.
The dimensions of this bed are:
Absolute width: 55 in (140 cm) – can be widened.
Absolute length: 79 in (200 cm) – can be lengthened.
Mattress width: 54 in (135 cm) – can be widened.
Mattress length: 75 in (190 cm) – can be lengthened.
Absolute height of canopy: 87 in (201 cm).
Height of head panel: 54 in (137 cm).
Height of foot panel: 49 in (124 cm).
Height of side runners: 18 in (46 cm).
