Circa 1840, early Victorian Biedermeier flame mahogany two door side cabinet. The flame mahogany top with matching flame veneers and a slightly raised centre. From this it has a sloping section on the front and sides which again is veneered in matching flame mahogany. The apron beneath is shaped and cushioned, and contains a secret drawer which is released by a catch inside the doors. There are two raised panel doors with concave tops and bottoms and shaped sides. Inside there is a single shelf which is adjustable. At the left and right of the doors there are turned and carved columns with stylish turned capitals. The base of cabinet is concave in the opposite direction of the drawer. The whole piece stands on an enclosed plinth which is on castors for ease of movement. The cabinet has excellent colour, wonderful style and great selection of matching veneers.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
