Baby size late 17th century carved oak coffer of the most gorgeous colour. The coffer is basically OK but has had some later Georgian restorations. The size is 100% original and has NOT been cut down from a bigger one and all the carving to the front is original. The top has had some later Georgian restoration including the hinges and the seperate piece along the back. The original pin hinge holes are in the base as you would expect. I would imagine at some point in the early 18th century someone has let the lid fall back which has caused the damage. There is a small old repair to the back right hand stile.

The lock plate is original on the front as is all the carving which is superb. The coffer shines like glass with waxed finish and deep original patination.

Although not 100% right this is a lovely looking piece of early oak of a VERY RARE small size.

SIZE; 30" wide by 17" deep by 19" high
