Superb Antique Late 19th Century Oak Roll Top Pedestal Desk and dating from around 1890. Constructed from quality medium oak it has a polished top with moulded edge above an s shaped tambor front with brass escutcheon and which is in very good condition and runs smoothly. Internally there are assorted pigeon holes and letter racks above two drawers either side of a central space with secret frieze pen drawers ( see photo). To each pedestal there is a sliding book rest above two short drawers and with a double fronted deep file drawer to the base with a long drawer to the centre and the desk being panelled within the kneehole. All of the drawers are oak lined with moulded oak handles and it stands on a plinth base on castors. It has panelled sides and is panelled to the back and dismantles for ease of transporting.
Measures: 46" high to top x desk height 30" x knee height 25" x depth 29" x 48" wide

A superb quality oak 19th Century Roll Top Desk and in very good original condition with a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
