This is an antique lyre back side chair. An English, walnut and needlepoint embroidered bedroom or hall seat, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.

• Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Walnut frame presents fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
• Traditionally stuffed cushion with quality embroidered cover
  
  
• Shaped crest rail with flame mahogany frieze to centre
• Striking lyre back splat with flowerhead patera and wheat sheaf detail
• Appealing technique to the needlepoint, with a finer thread used for the central interest
• Raised upon turned front legs, united to the splayed rear legs with an X-stretcher
