This is an antique secretaire sideboard. An English, mahogany drop-front correspondence cabinet, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

• Of excellent proportion and graced with Art Nouveau taste
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Select stocks show fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
• Quality bevelled mirror plates with a desirable light foxing and bright appearance

• Breakfront pediment accentuated with dentil moulding over a pair of narrow alcove corner shelves
• Upper cabinet hosts a pair of generously sized shelves behind the large mirrored doors
• Wide sideboard surface with a tiered edge moulding sits above the cabinet base
• Dressed throughout with working locks — key present

• Superb secretaire front with carved frieze framing the pair of brass drop handles over shaped backplates
• Accessed by push button to each side, the writing surface sits ahead of a suite of storage compartments
• Inset green leather skiver with gold tooling in original order
• Field panel lower doors catch the eye with striking Art Nouveau relief carvings
• The sideboard raised upon a plinth foot, with bracket feet to the front and rear
