Circa 1870, exceptional quality carved oak Flemish freestanding writing table. The rectangular top with inset burgundy hide writing surface with gilt tooling and foliate carved foredges, the frieze with carved lion head flanked by drawers with further foliate and lion head carvings, with oak lined drawers, the sides and back of the frieze with matching carvings. Supported on pairs of barley twist supports at each end, interconnected by barley twist stretchers on a cabriole base with carved masks and scrolled toes. Wonderful lovely colour and patina.

Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
