This is an antique gentleman's glove box. An English, walnut sarcophagus shaped keepsake or card case, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1870.
- Delightful craftsmanship, ideal for the reception hall side cabinet or dresser
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Walnut stocks present wonderful colour and figuring
- Burr walnut to lid adds further grain interest
- Original silk cotton lining to the lid reverse in attractive aqua blue hue
- Pleasingly clean interior perfect for use
- Inset lock to the front fascia — untested, key absent
- Dressed to the base with a protective green baize
This is a charming antique gentleman's glove box, with delightful craftsmanship and superior figuring. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
