This is an antique drawing room tea caddy. An English, flame mahogany sarcophagus with glass mixer, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.

• Superb craftsmanship with striking decorative appearance
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Select flame stocks present superior grain interest
• Warm caramel hues dazzle beneath a wax polish finish

• Distinctive sarcophagus top with domed and beaded centrepiece
• Dressed to the fascia with a small circular lock escutcheon — in working order, key present
• Pair of lidded canisters sit neatly within their recess, with a mixing glass to centre
• Canisters in appealing original order, with aged linings

• Mixing glass presents appealing cut detail with diamond patterns
• One small loss to the circumference of the rolled foot
• Glass resides within a violet velvet lined receptacle
• The whole raised upon a quartet of squat bun feet

This is a dashing antique drawing room tea caddy, with striking figuring and graced with fine Regency craftsmanship. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
