This is an antique double spoon back settee. An English, rosewood three seater ornate sofa, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.

• Striking form and a treat of carved craftsmanship
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Superb show frame presents deep caramel hues and fine grain interest
• Professionally upholstered in the traditional manner with deep button finish

• Double spoon back form, with short arms terminating in scrolled knuckles
• Centre skilfully adorned with a pierced, relief carved scroll wreath
• Dressed in a quality taupe coloured velvet upholstery with matched brocade trim
• Generously stuffed seat cushion with a pronounced centre seat

• Delicate craftsmanship accentuates the show frame, with foliate carved knees
• Prominent scrolled knuckles host showcase the appealing figuring
• Lower frame hosting a terminus of two scroll forms with flowerhead decoration
• Standing upon ornate front cabriole legs, with splayed rear legs and riding on castors
