This is an antique correspondence box. An English, leather bound writing case, dating to he late Victorian period, circa 1890.

• Graced with a suite of features and appealing dark finish
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
• Bound throughout in deep black leather with a lightly weathered appearance
• Brass fittings throughout present warm golden hues

• Recessed carry handle adorns the lid, personalised with the name Evelyn
• Dressed with a circular escutcheon and Bramah lock — untested, key absent
• Opening to reveal a storage tray, hosting the folio writing skiver
• The skiver in bright navy blue accentuated with gold tooling

• Deep purple leather to the reverse adds a touch of colour
• Retained by rotating clasps, a blotter opens outwards from the lid interior
• Lidded compartment conceals accessories and situates a charming ink well
• Maker's mark for the esteemed Edwards and Jones of Regent Street, London, purveyors of quality cases

This is an appealing antique correspondence box with great dark tonality and a useful array of features. Presented with a quality Victorian finish, lightly worn commensurate with age. Delivered ready to enjoy.
