This is an antique button-back salon chair. An English, walnut spoon-back seat, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.

• Beautifully presented with exceptional quality and form
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Walnut frame presents rich caramel hues and fine grain interest
• Benefits from a recent professional reupholstering in the traditional manner

• Distinctive spoon back with broad top rail, accentuated with carved motif
• Button-back cushion in distinctive spoon shape with flourishes to the waist
• Traditionally stuffed seat cushion at a comfortable height of 42cm (16.5'')
• Attractive upholstery in mid grey with striking monochrome rose pattern

• Serpentine front rail with bowed form meeting the cabriole legs
• Knees adorned with bold carved cabochon over a tooled shield with oak leaf pendant
• Supported at the rear with a pair of splayed block section legs
• Riding smoothly upon a quartet of brass castors
