    an antique italian gilded and upholstered bed with low foot rail, circa 1920

    This is a very pretty antique Italian bed with gilded bedstead, a buttoned, upholstered headboard and a low foot rail. It is circa 1920 and in very good condition throughout. The original gilding has worn, chipped and cracked slightly over time to give the bed a lovely aged look and feel. The buttoned upholstery is in good condition however could be replaced with a fabric of your choice. The bedstead itself is solid and bolts together securely so that there is no wobbling etc. The bed with take either a 4 foot 6 inch mattress in between the rails or a 5 foot mattress on the rails and foot rail with a very slight overhang.
