...........................................................................Description:4 19thc PERIOD ANTIQUE CHINESE DRAGON CARVED PADAUK ARMCHAIRS - TABLE AVAILABLEA fabulous original 19th Century set of Chinese armchairs which are profusely carved in a spectacular fashion.Note: We are also selling the matching period centre table via a separate listing, and we are also prepared to split this set of four armchairs into a set of 2 of armchairs if required so please let us know if you are interested in just 2 of them.The very impressive armchairs are all strong & sturdy and they are a genuine set of 19th Century period Chinese Armchairs, dating to Circa 1880-1890.Each Armchair has a profusely carved pierced rear back panel which depicts a fiery winding Dragon which is flanked at either side by a pair of conforming dragon handrails, both of which are holding a ball like object in their mouths.The generous proportioned serpentine shaped seat has a fret carved frieze which rises above a beautiful foliate carved apron, the whole of which terminates in 4 large sturdy carved inverted legs.Of Excellent aged colouration & patina, the set are offered in overall beautiful original condition commensurate with age and are free from any damage or missing areas of carvings.There are a few very minor scuff marks to some of the leading edges of the chair frames but all of which is in perfect keeping with a genuine period set of this age and mentioned purely for accuracy.
