Circa 1890. A late Victorian moulded shaped leather upholstered horseshoe shaped desk chair., the curved and raised solid back braced by a pair of ribbed uprights with carved quarter brackets on each side, the curved arms supported on turned balustrades, with a large stuff over leather seat and shaped and moulded seat rail, the back legs are square and slightly out swept, the front legs are turned ring turned and tapering resting on brass castors, the chair is in the style and has the quality of ‘ John Taylor of Edinburgh’.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
