Lovely/ Beautiful example of a simple understated antique pine dressing chest of 3 lockable drawers (2 keys).

This item has been stripped, repaired and restored using period materials where possible.

while retaining and probably adding to it's petina. The top has been dismantled, reassembled/ re glued/ re fixed using period methods where possible. The mirror enclosure has been dismantled, stripped, cleaned and re assembled. The whole piece has been slightly stained using a linseed oil based stain containing chromes only as would have probably been the original finish.

The whole thing was then finished/ waxed using several layers of a combination of hard wax, beeswax and linseed oil. This has really brought out the grain flower as you can see on the photographs. This also gives a very close approximation of the original finish for its period but also adds an element of hard wearing ability.

As you can see there are 2 keys currently in the locks that lock all draws.

Going by the use of wrought iron wedge type nails during construction I would guess the dresser is somewhere between 18th century through the late 19th century. It is old and subsequently has lots and lots of character (and stories to tell if it could speak).

Note this item has been waxed to restore back to close original condition - do not use any aerosol or solvent based wax or cleaner these contain solvents which will strip off the layers of wax applied. it should only require light dusting only. I can supply a small jar of liquid beeswax I use if required.

This Item took 3 days to restore (total time).

Location is East Yorkshire - can deliver (depending on your location) otherwise will give estimate for shipping. Contact 07895973841 for estimate giving location.
